Willie Reid Wright, Jr., 80, of Alamo, died Monday, November 7. Funeral services will be at 3:00P.M., Thursday, November 10, at Union Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County, Mr. Wright was the son of the late Willie Reid Wright, Sr., and Sarah Viola Ryals Wright. Retired Wheeler County Executive Director of FSA, former Ocmulgee Academy athletic supporter and longtime Wheeler County Board of Education member, he was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Nancy W. Wright; daughters, Carol (Alan) Bragg and Debra (James) Spires, all of Alamo; brother, Elder McKinley Wright of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Casey Spires (Amanda Gregory), Renee’ (Wesley) Barlow, Pamela Spires (Steve Cox), and Tiffany (Jeremiah) Akins; and great-grandchildren, Abigail Spires, Dylan Barlow and Toryn Barlow.
