Willie Harrison Nobles, born on December 10, 1934, in Helena, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Lumber City, Georgia. He was a cherished husband, father, papa, brother, and friend, whose contributions to his community and the lives of those around him will be fondly remembered.

For the majority of his professional life, Willie dedicated himself to serving as a Park Ranger at Little Ocmulgee State Park. His service fostered a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of Georgia, and he took great pride in protecting and sharing that beauty with others. Willie's warm spirit and commitment to nature made a lasting impact on the park and the many visitors who experienced its wonders under his care.

A respected member of Faith Baptist Church, Willie was known for his musical talents, sharing his love for singing through the Glory Road Quartet and Glory Road Trio for nearly 50 years. His passion for music was evident to all who had the pleasure of hearing him sing.

In his leisure time, Willie also found joy in gardening, nurturing plants and flowers with the same devotion he extended to his family and community. His green thumb brought life to his surroundings and provided a space of beauty and tranquility for all who visited.

Willie leaves behind his beloved wife, Shirley A. Nobles of Helena; his children, Cary (Becky) Nobles of Laurens, SC, Hank Spoon of Hephzibah, GA, Melessie (Dawson) Horne of Helena, Jerry Ann (Mike) Varnadoe of Lumber City, Gerald (Laurie) Spoon of Hephzibah, and Frank (Jan) Spoon of Evans. He is also survived by his brother, Jimmie Nobles of Helena, and several grandchildren, including Ryan (Kristy) Nobles and Adam Nobles. His legacy continues with several great-grandchildren, including Dylan Nobles and Maddison Nobles, who will carry forth his memories.

Willie was preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Purvis Nobles and parents, Earnest Nobles and Clara Grimes Nobles. As we reflect upon his remarkable life, we remember Willie Harrison Nobles not only for his many accomplishments but for the loving relationships he nurtured throughout his years. His unwavering love for his family, his community, and his faith serves as an inspiring testament to a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends may pay their respects at a memorial service to celebrate Willie's life at 11:00A.M., Saturday, March 22, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home.
