William A. “Bill” Bowen, 80, of Milan, died Thursday, April 7. Funeral services will be at 1:00P.M., Saturday, April 9, at Milan Baptist Church with burial in the Milan City Cemetery.
A native and lifelong resident of Milan, Mr. Bowen was the son of the late Lon and Isabel Spires Bowen. A U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII, he retired in 1980, after 34 years as an engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Bowen was a lifelong member of Milan Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and taught a men’s Sunday School Class for 30+ years. He loved and appreciated the outdoors, respected wildlife, and was a member of Midway Prayer Breakfast.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene H. Bowen, Milan; son, Benny (Cricket) Bowen, Swainsboro; grandchildren, Todd (Christi) Patrick, Smyrna, and Kevin (Sharon) Patrick, Brooklet; and great-grandchildren, Ansley Patrick, Ashley Patrick and Tommy Patrick.
