William Steverson
William Steverson, 93, of Scotland, died Friday, January 20. Funeral services will be at 2:00P.M., Sunday, January 22, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in Blockhouse Cemetery, Jacksonville. Visitation is Saturday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
The son of the late William Jesse and Fannie Pittman Steverson, Mr. Steverson graduated from Milan High School and attended South Georgia College. He was a farmer, a member of Blockhouse Baptist Church and he attended Soul Cross Ministries. Mr. Steverson was a mason, and was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Christopher Tyler Steverson.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal N. Steverson, Scotland; son, William Steverson, Jr., Helena; daughters, Nancy Wright, Beaufort, SC; Lynda Vaughn, Wray; and Patsy Vaughn, McRae; sisters, Geneva Crowe, Helena; Laverne Polk, Hoboken; Elizabeth Homans, Brunswick; and Sharon Gentry, South Dakota; grandchildren, Lynn Kight, McRae; Vicki (Matthew) Bailey, Dublin; Dennis Bearden and Cindy Callihan, Beaufort, SC; Shannon Cook, Helena; Chris Steverson, McRae; and Katie (Allen) Miner, Valdosta; several great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
