William Register, Jr., 79, of Jacksonville, died Tuesday, August 16. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Thursday, August 18, at Emmanuel Apostolic Church with burial in the Blockhouse Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-9:00P.M.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Register was the son of the late Stacey and Annie Mae Roberson Register. A sewing machine mechanic, he had worked with Cable Raincoats, Roydon Wear and Clint’s Outerwear. Mr. Register was a member of Emmanuel Apostolic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ida Mae Register of Jacksonville; children, Angela Register (Robert) Lott of Douglas, William Frank Register of Jacksonville, Brenda Register (Larry) Phillips of Fitzgerald, James Edward Register of Jacksonville, and Shelia Register (Clifford) Short of Douglas; brothers and sisters, Anne Lou Ryals of Lumber City, Billy (Elaine) Register of Fitzgerald, Jackie Darden of McRae, Benny (Shirley) Register of Helena and Judy Register of Jacksonville. Seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.
