Vernon Eschol Adams, 65, of Eastman, died Saturday, March 07. Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, March 10, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native of McRae, Vernon was the son of the late Eschol Vernon Adams and Dorothy Dorris Livingston Adams. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam era, he was wounded in action while serving as a Paratrooper and a tunnel rat. Vernon was a member of World Outreach Church and was a salesman with both Pepsi and Coca Cola. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carol Adams, and sister, Jan Adams.
Survivors include his daughter, Valarie Adams Webb, Eastman; son, Clayton Vernon (Bessie) Adams, Milan; brothers and sisters, Kenneth Adams and Eddie Adams, both of TX, Patsy Smith, Helena, Randall Adams, Waynesboro, Tony Adams, Sylvania, Ricky Adams, KY, Clark Adams, Linda Hatalla and Kathy Helton, all of Gainesville and Jed Adams, Dearing; grandchildren, Corey Webb, Zack Webb, Blake Webb, Alex Adams, Drew Adams and Anneliese Adams; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Webb.
