Tom Jack Boney, 88, of Scotland, previously of the China Hill Community, died Monday, December 26, following a lengthy illness.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00P.M., Friday, December 30, at China Hill Christian Church with burial in the Bethel Church Cemetery.  Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Boney was the son of the late Wiley and Mary Jane Burke Boney.  A veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, he served in both the Navy and the Coast Guard, was a Mason and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.  Mr. Boney served one term as Telfair County Commissioner and was a jack of all trades, having worked as a truck driver and a welder.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Ann Boney, Scotland; children, Janet Henry and Cindy (Joey) Jones, both of Milan; Alisa Widener, Scotland, Rickey Widener (Donna), Scotland, Cathy (Daniel) Taylor, Jacksonville, Jan Widener (Marcus), Scotland, Randy (Rebecca) Widener, Scotland and Amanda Widener Wilcox (Willie), Ludowici; brothers, Wiley Joe Boney, Roswell and Talmadge Boney, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Ashley (Brett) Bland, David L. (Jessica) Roberson, III, Daniel (Kandi) Roberson, Amy Roberson, Brittany (Josh) Rogers, Lindsey Smith Widener, Kayla Steverson, Ronald Roberson, Shelly (Hank) Cason, Hailey Wright (Justin), Brooka (Brian) Parker, Breanna (Joey) Harrell, Bailee Widener, Marissa Wilcox, Devonte Wilcox and Danielle (Kevin) Kirkland.  Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
