For 72 years Lyn blessed her family with kindness and grace. She was the daughter of Evelyn Thaxton Thrasher and Tigner Emmett Thrasher of McRae, Georgia and Macon, Georgia.
Born in McRae, Georgia, she lived most of her adult life in Macon, Georgia. Lyn passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Phoenix Arizona.
She is survived by her sons, James Chandler Peterson, Jr. and Thaxton Thrasher Peterson; her daughter-in-law, Sara K. Peterson; three beloved grandchildren; Sydney, Thaxton, Jr., and Sawyer all of Phoenix; sister, Lucie Thrasher Bryant of Washington, D.C.; nephew, Thomas Edward Bryant, Jr. also of Washington; niece, Evelyn Bryant Evans of Jupiter, Florida; and six great nieces and nephews.
Lyn graduated from Graham-Eckes Preparatory School in Palm Beach, Florida, attended Emory University and studied at Le Fleuron Institute in Florence, Italy. She was a member of the Atlanta and Phoenix Junior Leagues and served on the State of Georgia Botanical Gardens Board. A member of Vineville Methodist Church in Macon, Georgia, Lyn was a past owner of the McRae Coca Cola Bottling Company, founded in 1905 by her maternal grandfather, Henry Frank Thaxton.
Her body will be returned to McRae for graveside funeral services at 11:00A.M., Friday, March 13, in the family plot in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Lyn loved adventure, laughter and most of all, friends and family.
