Roy Sidney Powell, 74, of McRae, died Tuesday, June 12.. Funeral services will be held at 3:00P.M., Thursday, June 14, at the McRae First Baptist Church with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Powell was the son of the late Roland Q. and Naomi Burkett Powell. He was a member of McRae First Baptist Church. Mr. Powell had been employed with Frito Lay as a distributor, and later as an agent with Liberty National Life Insurance.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Heath Powell; step-sons, Tim (Donna) Spires and Kelly (Sara) Spires; and step-grandchildren, Breanna Spires, Mary Beth Spires and Kelly Royce Spires, Jr., all of McRae.
