Roger Davis

Roger Davis, 81, of Chauncey, died Thursday, June 17, following a lengthy illness.  A funeral service will be held at 4:00P.M., Sunday, June 20, at New Red Hill Baptist Church.  Visitation is Saturday, 6:00-8:00P.M.

A native of McRae, Mr. Davis was the son of the late Charlie Gordon Davis and the late Alice Jones Davis and was married to the late Billie Joe Brown Davis for 61 years.  A self-employed mechanic for most of his life, he will also be remembered for his affiliation with Davis-Hanson Pools.  Mr. Davis was a Mason and a Shriner and was a member of New Red Hill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed his years of "picking" with Bluegrass Gospel Expressed.  He was preceded in death by a son, Andy Davis.

Survivors include his son, Terry (Ruthie) Davis of Milan; grandchildren, Harley (Nichole) Davis, Hannah (J.J.) Williams, Josh (Crystal) Davis, Will Davis and Hunter Davis; great-grandchildren, Andy Davis, Gauge Davis, Andyana Williams, Lola Pearl Mincey, Millie Williams and Peyton Davis; sister, Joanne (Tom) Miller of Monticello; brother-in-law, Roy (Ethel) Jeffries of McRae, and sister-in-law, Ann Davis of Alamo.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
