Rebecca "Runt" (Boyd) Harrelson

Rebecca B. “Runt” Harrelson, 82, formerly of Helena, died peacefully Wednesday, October 5, following a lengthy illness.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, October 8, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial at Central Grove Church of God Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, 5:00-7:00P.M.

A native of Telfair County where she lived most of her life, Mrs. Harrelson was the daughter of the late Homer and Lorene Sellars Boyd and was the wife of the late M.L. Harrelson.  A communications officer for the city of McRae for 25 years and a member of Central Grove Church of God, she also attended Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Harrelson was preceded in death by brother and sister, Dan Boyd and Silvia Patterson.

Survivors include her son, Donnie (Vicky) Conner of Vidalia; sister, Opal Coleman of Milner; grandchildren, Lee (Meredith) Conner of Helena and Christie (Elijah) Shaw of Alamo; great-grandchildren, Bryce Conner, Beau Conner, Symphony Shaw, Joshawa Shaw and Harmony Shaw.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
