Pauline Towns Patterson Garrison, 93, of Helena, died Monday, August 11, 2014, at Coliseum Medical Center, Macon. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Saturday, August 16, at McRae United Methodist Church with burial in the Midway Church Cemetery.
Pauline was a native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, born October 26, 1920, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lucy Spires Towns. Number four of eleven children, she was a long time employee of Roydon Wear as well as a nursing assistant at Telfair County Hospital for many years, doing what she did best. Her best was evidenced in the care, love and support that she gave to all, including her two husbands, Frank Patterson and Lock Garrison, through their long and critical illnesses, as well as her son, Jimmy Patterson, who have all preceded her in death. Pauline was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Annie Walker Swilley of Brunswick, Lucile Gibson of Macon, Vettie Billue, Bessie Proctor, Lorene Bailey and Payton Towns, all of Milledgeville, James Towns of McRae, and special sister-in-law, Mary Lou Towns of McRae and Fitzgerald.
Pauline is survived by two sons, Bobby H. Patterson, Laurel, MS and Frank K. Patterson, Jr., Macon, GA; two daughters-in-law, Patricia (Frank) Patterson, Macon, GA and Silvia (Jimmy) Patterson, Helena, GA; three sisters, Ruby Ivey, Bonaire, GA, Louise Manning, Ridgeland, MS and Katherine Keller, Ridgecrest, CA; sister-in-law, Myra (Payton) Towns, Milledgeville, GA; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lonnie Towns, Mark Towns, Stacy Giles, Frank Patterson, III, Shelby Phan and Michael Manning served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers included Dr. Brian Siddall, Ennis Hart, Lawson Geiger, Keith Granger, Truette Howard, Johnny Slusher, Danny Smith, UMC Mary Windsor Sunday School Class, UMC Fellowship Sunday School Class and UMC Church Council.
