Oscar Owen Hulett

Oscar Owen Hulett, 77 of Hazlehurst died Thursday, December 28, following an illness.  The funeral service will be at 3:30P.M.,Sunday, December 31, at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with visitation beginning at 1:30P.M.  Burial will follow at Palms Memorial Gardens.

A native of Telfair County, Mr. Hulett was the son of the late Oscar Mark Hulett and the late Austella Davis Hulett.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst where he was a past deacon and Sunday School teacher.  A U.S. Army veteran and environmentalist for the state of Georgia, Mr. Hulett had previously worked with Piggly Wiggly and was a former furniture store owner.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Teate Hulett of Hazlehurst; son, Mark (Heather) Hulett of Greensboro; sisters, Dawn Fowler of Macon, Yasmin (Jim) Beattie of Macclenny, FL and Lucrecia (Norman) King of Warner Robins; and grandchildren, Hunter (Morgan) Hulett, Hayden Hulett, Caroline Hulett, Holton Kennedy and Camille Kennedy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 31 N. Tallahassee St., Hazlehurst, GA 31539.
