Nina Ruth Porter

Nina Ruth Porter, a dedicated bank clerk for 26 years and beloved member of the community, passed away on May 26, 2024 in Douglas, GA at the age of 89. She was born on June 9, 1934, in Alamo GA to her late parents, F.M and Marie Fiveash Joiner.

Throughout her life, Nina brought joy to those around her with her great sense of humor and warm personality. She left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.  Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Porter and a son, Keith Rowland.

Nina is survived by her sons, Ernie (Glenda) Rowland of Douglas and David (Paula) Rowland of Lakeland, FL. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Nina's life will be held at 11:00A.M., Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Alamo Memorial Cemetery in Alamo, GA.

In addition to her successful career as a bank clerk with Barnett Bank and her active involvement in the First Methodist Church of Douglas, Nina will be remembered for her kindness, wit, and unwavering love for her family.

May she rest in peace knowing she was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
