Funeral services for Louise Williams Walker, 88, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother will be held at McRae United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 20 at 11:00 A.M. with graveside services following at Milan City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the funeral. Mrs. Walker passed away on November 18, 2014 at McRae Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Mrs. Walker was born on January 13, 1926 in Milan, GA to the late Henry Bennett Williams and Ida Yawn Williams and later moved to McRae, GA where she graduated from McRae-Helena High School. She studied business at Georgia Women’s College in Milledgeville. In 1944 she married her childhood sweet-heart, Jack Morgan Walker, Sr.; they were married for 55 years. Mrs. Walker was employed by the Telfair County Tax Commissioner’s office, was a devoted home-maker, and was an active member of the McRae United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Madge Williams Holmes, and husband Jack Morgan Walker, Sr.
She is survived by three sons, Jack M. Walker, Jr. of St. Simons; Henry W.(Carol) Walker and John B. (Kay) Walker of McRae; one daughter, Judy L. Walker of St. Simons; eleven grandchildren, Leslie Gee, Jack Walker, III, Savannah Walker, Amy Williams, Kelly Walker, Brian Walker, Emilee Burton, Natalie Walker, Tommy Jack Bland, Jeremy Bland, Laura Williams; fourteen great- grandchildren, Samuel Westbrook, Wyatt Gee, Morgan Rae Walker, Macey Grace Walker, Brett Williams, Brooke Williams, Sara Williams, Caroline Burton, Amelia Burton, Lily Bland, Trevor Bland, Walker Bland, Camden Williams, and Charlotte Williams.
She was surrounded by family in her final moments.
