Marietta (Ward) Lowie

Marietta Ward Lowie, 76, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, September 26.  Funeral services will be at 11:00A.M., Thursday, September 29, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in the Oakland (Helena) Cemetery.  Visitation is Wednesday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native of Wheeler County, Mrs. Lowie was the daughter of the late Augustus Jones Ward and Mary Bell Collins Ward.  She was retired from Modern Fibers and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lowie,a son, Pete Marees, and a sister, Ernestine Noell.
Survivors include her children, Maria (Bill) McRae of McRae, Tammy Rodgers of Fitzgerald, and Larry Roberson of Savannah; stepdaughters, Mary Hornsby, Patricia Lowie and Judi Hodges; grandchildren, William McRae, Michael McRae, Amy Cordero, Jason Rodgers, B.J. Rodgers, Dallas Rodgers, and Kel Roberson, five great-grandchildren; a niece, Lori O'Clair; and extended family, Billy Rodgers, Charles Powell and Ryan Powell.
