Margie Nell Bloodworth Shepherd, 88, of Milan, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 13, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 3:00P.M., Sunday, November 15, at Milan Baptist Church with burial in the Milan Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, 6:00-8:00P.M at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, GA.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Ms. Shepherd was the daughter of the late Jim and Gladys Hurst Bloodworth and was the wife of the late John Mitchell Shepherd, Sr. A retired teacher and media specialist with the Telfair County School Board, she was a member of Telfair-Wheeler Retired Teachers’ Association and Cora and Odia’s Bible Study Class. Ms. Shepherd was also a faithful member of Milan Baptist Church and the Marie Conner/ Friendship Sunday School Class.
Survivors include daughter Sylvia (Cliff) Sandifer, Milan; sons, Jack Jerrell Shepherd and John Mitchell (Addie) Shepherd, Jr., Milan; brother, James (Leda) Bloodworth, Eastman; sister, Jeanette Ray, Poteat, TX; and grandchildren, Mitchell “Little Mitch” Sandifer, Jekyll Island, and John Mitchell “Trip” Shepherd, Milan.
