Lillie Ethel (Selph) Evans

Lillie Ethel Selph Evans, born March 12, 1939 in McRae, GA, passed away on November 25, 2016.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 10, 2016 in  the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, GA, with burial in New Red Hill Church Cemetery following services.  Visitation is one hour prior to service.

A native of Milan, GA Mrs. Evans was the daughter of the late Charlie Morris Selph and the late Claudia Selph.  She loved to fish, crochet, needle point and quilt but more than anything she loved to read.  Her children and grandchildren were very dear to her but she especially loved hugging on those great-grandbabies.  She left a legacy for her grand children who will always remember sitting on buckets fishing and learning to cook red eye gravy, crochet and sew with Grandma, or even sitting in Papa's recliner with her to watch Wheel of Fortune.
Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by a son, George Carroll Evans, Jr., great grand daughter Emmalynn Grace Peoples, and the one and only love of her life, her husband,  George Carroll Evans, Sr.
Survivors include her daughters, Marsha Carol Evans Egeland of Virginia and Matilda "Tillie" Evans Vance of Rockwall, TX; daughter-in-law, Patricia Ann Simmons Evans of Kaufman, TX and grandchildren, Crystal Thomas and husband Paul, Chad Evans and wife Tina, Charlie Evans and wife Lindsey, Megan Vance Peoples and husband Robert, Johnathan Evans and Mahlon Vance and multiple great-grandchildren.
