Latha Thomas Cartwright-Beauchamp, 102, of McRae, died Monday, January 6. Funeral services will be held at 3:00P.M., Wednesday, January 8, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
A native and lifelong resident of Workmore Community of Telfair County, Mrs. Cartwright-Beauchamp was the daughter of the late Alvin and Viola Massey Thomas. She was a homemaker and was the oldest living member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ellis McDave Cartwright and Clyde Beauchamp; sister, Clyde T. Welch; and brothers, Homer Thomas and Lamar Thomas.
Survivors include her children, Ronelda (Benny) Screws, Dublin, Clarice (Albert) Batchelor, Harlem, Thomas (Joan) Cartwright, McRae, Vivian (Lamar) Cooper, McRae and Mack (Ilia) Cartwright, Ball Ground; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
