Kathy Elaine McCarter Durden, 60, of Helena, died Wednesday, June 18. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Friday, June 20, in the New Bethel Church Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 7:00-8:00P.M.
A native of Brewton, AL, Kathy was the daughter of Doris Hook Seward and the late William McCarter. She was a hairdresser for many years and worked at P&L Garment Factory before retiring from Lumber City Hardware. Kathy was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace Durden, Helena; mother, Doris (Ed) Seward, Helena; daughter, Crystal (Spence) McDaniel, Helena; brothers, Joseph McCarter, Glenwood and Steve McCarter, Byron; and granddaughters, Kaylee Hunter and Anna Hunter.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
