It is with great sadness that the family of John Clamon "JC" Buttram, 93, announces that he went to meet his Savior in the early morning hours of October 18, 2020, surrounded by loved ones. A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Wednesday, October 21, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, GA, with burial at Telfair Memorial Gardens. Visitation begins at 9:30A.M., Wednesday.
Mr. Buttram, or "Mr. B." as he was know to so many was a very well respected and God fearing man by family, friends and anyone he would come in contract with. Originally from McRae, GA, he was the son of Toy C. and Eva Carpenter Buttram. He would do whatever jobs necessary to provide for his family. Mr. Buttram was a farmer, meat cutter with Piggly Wiggly and Hardin's Grocery Store in Telfair County. In 1956 he moved his family to Atlanta where he began Buttram's Septic Tank Company. Mr. Buttram was a member of Brushy Knob Baptist Church for 64 years and also a member of the Gideons. He is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Gladys Francis Webb Buttram; and three brothers, Phillip, Kent and Gerald Buttram.
Surviving is his daughter, Judith Ann Buttram of Ellenwood, GA; a surrogate granddaughter, Tammie Rowse Snodgrass (Bobby); sisters, Ellen Campbell, Alma Bailey and Eva Mae Walden, all of Florida, Imogene Morgan of Georgia; and a brother, G.B. Buttram of Florida.
