Jimmy “Jay” Marion Williamson, 78, of Milan, died Tuesday, November 22, following a lengthy illness. A funeral service will be held at 3:00P.M., Wednesday, November 23, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in the Milan Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
A native of Claxton, Mr. Williamson was the son of the late Charlie Edward and Esther Jernegan Williamson. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Milan Lions Club, Milan Booster Club and the Milan PTA. In addition to his 32 years with the City of Milan, Mr. Williamson also enjoyed his tenure as Security Officer at Little Ocmulgee State Park. He was a member of Milan Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie V. “Cricket” Gray Williamson of Milan; children, Jim Williamson, Wanda Williamson and Robin Russell Williamson, all of Milan and Tom Williamson of McRae; sister, Bonnie Moore of Twin City; granddaughter, McKinzie Rose Williamson of Alamo; sisters-in-law, Jean Gray and Jean Williamson; several nephews, and several nieces, including Susie Lee.
Active pallbearers include Bodie Gray, Kirby Gray, Brooks Gray, Jordy Gray, Louie Lee and Claude Cravey.
