Jerry Reed Belcher, 72, of Helena, died Monday, May 12. Funeral services will be held at 12:00Noon, Thursday, May 15, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in Oak Land (Helena) Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday. 6-8P.M.
A native of Pikeville, KY, Mr. Belcher was the son of the late Reed and Aileen Kerr Belcher and was married to the late Blanche Doughard Marshall Belcher. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he worked as a coal miner before moving his family to the McRae-Helena area.
Survivors include his children, James Belcher and Aileen Belcher Teague, both of Helena, Bobby Belcher of Lebanon, TN and Ralph Belcher of Lexington, KY; brothers and sisters, Clinton Belcher and Patricia Hunt, both of Pikeville, KY, Gary Bruce Belcher of Rockhouse, KY, Betty Sue Green of Detroit, MI, Pauline Stanley of Roanoke, VA and Judy Stump of Richmond, KY. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
