James Williams "Jimmy" Vaughn

James Williams “Jimmy” Vaughn, 81, of Milan, died Thursday, January 5, following a lengthy illness.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Sunday, January 8, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in Milan Cemetery.  Visitation is Saturday, 5:00-7:00P.M.

A native of Telfair County, Mr. Vaughn was the son of the late James Thomas Vaughn and the late Abbie Amanda Williams Vaughn.  After serving in the U.S. Army, he attended Southern Tech and Middle Georgia College and was a computer tech for Western Union.  A member of Christ Episcopal Church, Mr. Vaughn was also part of the Antioch Church family but more recently was attending New Beulah Church (Primitive Baptist) at Sandhill.  He was a member of Eastern Star, Milan Lions Club, American Legion and was a Mason and a Shriner.  Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Spradley; and brothers, Bruce Vaughn and Wiley Vaughn.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Vaughn, Milan; daughter, Vicki Renee Vaughn, Milan; son, James Thomas “Bo” (Hope) Vaughn, II, Pelion, SC; grandchildren, Samantha (Joshua) Attaway, Gilbert SC, and Lynsey and Travis; and a great-granddaughter, Madisyn Attaway.
