James Kenneth Waldon

James Kenneth Waldon, 78, died Monday, July 15, following an extended illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M., Wednesday, July 17, at Blockhouse Baptist Church Cemetery, Jacksonville.  Visitation is 5:00-8:00P.M., Tuesday, at Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae.

A native of Telfair County, Mr. Waldon was the son of the late Earl and Vaunita Fussell Waldon.  He was a member of Blockhouse Baptist Church and an employee of Walmart.  Mr. Waldon was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hardy Spires Waldon, and brother, Robert “Bob” Waldon.

Survivors include his stepchildren, Jenny Day of Pearson, Joy Yeomans of Valdosta, Krista Spires of Broxton and Kimberly (Shawn) Merritt of Douglas; grandchildren, Meagan Day, Hannah Day, Shelby Day, Chance Yeomans, Chase Yeomans, Shane Spires, Kara Merritt and Evan Merritt.  Great-grandchildren, Presley Spires and Elshay Day also survive.
