Eastman-James “Jimmy” Brantly Ladson, 80, died Friday, February 11. Funeral services will be at 2:00P.M., Sunday, February 13, at McRae First Baptist Church, McRae, with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
A native of Dublin, Mr. Ladson was the son of the late James D. and Emma Shepard Ladson and was married to the late Lucy McDuffie Ladson. A retired Georgia State Patrolman and retired McRae Police Chief, he was a member of McRae First Baptist Church where he enjoyed many years as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. Mr. Ladson was a history buff and an avid reader and, as a genealogy enthusiast, had acquired a mass knowledge of his own family history. A proud American Patriot, he had served in the U.S. National Guard and was a member of the National Society of Sons of the American Revolution.
Survivors include his children, Kathy (Tom) Cranford, Eastman, Jeff (Guylynn) Hinson, Eastman, Jill (John) Calhoun, Dothan, AL, Debbie Ladson and Jayme (Greg) Weeks, both of Macon; mother-in-law, Pearl McDuffie, McRae; grandchildren, Jeffery Hinson, Daniel Hinson, Jodi Cunningham, John Calhoun, Jr., Brant Cranford, Olivia Cranford, Sallie Johnson and Bonnie Bennett; and a great-grandson, Colin Johnson.
