Henry Clifford Vaughn, 89, formerly of McRae, died Thursday, November 22. Funeral services will be at 2:00P.M., Sunday, November 25, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial at Telfair Memorial Gardens. Visitation is one hour prior to the funeral service.
The son of the late Robert and Mary Hulett Vaughn, Cliff was a longtime member and deacon at McRae First Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School. A Right Blister Gunner aboard a B-29 during World War II, Cliff returned home to own and operate Vaughn’s Furniture for 58 years before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Vaughn, Wray; children, Dennis (Sheila) Woolsey, Kearns, UT, Henry (Joanne) Vaughn, McRae, Louise (Scotty) Jones, Dublin, and Sammy (Cindy) Vaughn, McRae; step-daughter, Shannon Cook, Helena; sister, Ruth Vaughn, McRae; grandchildren, Kim (Dean) Goodwin, Jennifer (Matt) Walker, Matt (Cristi) Jones, Luke (Emily) Jones, Erin (Justin) Hergert, Jordan Vaughn, Stacy Weight, Tracy (Steve) Kinney and Audrey (Ben) Mapu; great-grandchildren, Taylor Long, Lexi Goodwin, Griffin Goodwin, Camden Walker, Liam Jones, Jason (Tori) Mapu, Lacee Mapu, Jordan Mapu, Sarah Weight, Anthony Weight, Sam Weight, Chelsea Kinney and Joshua Kinney; and great-great-grandchildren, Jayde Mapu and Pinia Mapu.
