Harry Howell Mitchell, 85, of Lumber City, died peacefully on Friday, October 15. A funeral service will be held at 3:00P.M., Sunday, October 17, at Shiloh United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
A native and lifelong resident of Wheeler County, Mr. Mitchell was the son of the late Jesse Howell Mitchell and the late Leah Webster Mitchell. A lifelong and highly respected farmer, he had served in the National Guard and was loved for the great husband, daddy, granddaddy and great-granddaddy that he was. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by a son, Stevie Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Annie Mitchell of Lumber City; sons, Robbie (Brenda) Mitchell of Alamo and Mike (Pam) Mitchell of Lumber City; grandchildren, Alan (Dawn) Mitchell, Megan (Lee) Stokes, Courtney (Andy) Miller, Katie (Andrew) Hackler and Heather (Caleb) Browning; and great-grandchildren, Noah Mitchell, Aidan Mitchell, Cason Stokes, Holten Stokes, Blakelee Stokes and Sawyer Kate Hackler.
