After a long illness of heart failure, Mrs. Gladys F. Webb Buttram, known as Mrs. B. to many, went to our Father’s home on high, March 12, at 9:11A.M., at Jonesboro Rehab. She leaves behind her husband, John C Buttram, and daughter, Judith A. Buttram, both of Ellenwood; eight brothers-in-love and sisters-in-love; great many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
The youngest of the late Troy and Taggie Webb’s eight children, she was born January 26, 1926, in Telfair County. She worked at Sloughan’s Shoe Store before moving to Atlanta in 1956, was a member of Giddon’s Auxillary and was a bookkeeper and secretary for 40 years. Mrs. Buttram was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conley, now known as Brushy Knob Baptist Church and was a wife, mother, aunt, friend, sister and neighbor for 88 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, March 15, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in the Telfair Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
