Eva Faye Floyd Hart

Eva Faye Floyd Hart, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on her 85th birthday, September 28, 2024, in Athens, Georgia. Born on September 28, 1939, in McRae, Georgia, Mrs. Hart was a lifelong resident of the area, warmly remembered for her generous spirit and loving heart.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Hart embraced her role in the community through her various careers. She worked as a seamstress at Roydon Wear, an Avon Representative, and later, a lunchroom aide at McRae Manor Nursing Home, where she spent precious time with the residents, offering comfort and companionship during their daily meals.

She was a devoted member of the Central Grove Church of God, nurturing her faith and extending her love to her church family. Her dedication to her faith and her community reflected her lifelong commitment to helping others.

Mrs. Hart is survived by her loving children, Dana Hart and wife, Jill of Athens, and Mary Beth Cook and husband, Paul of Vidalia. She cherished her role as a grandmother to grandsons Hart Cook, Jase Cook, and Jack Hart, and granddaughter Tori Morgunoff and husband, Mario. She was also proud of her great-grandson, Tibe Morgunoff, who, at only 7 weeks old, thrilled her through pictures and videos.  Also surviving is a sister, Lucille Howell of Lakeland, FL and a brother, Gene Floyd of AL, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Howard Hart; her daughter, LaDonna Hart; and her granddaughter, Brandy Hart. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A graveside service to honor Mrs. Hart’s life will be held on October 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Telfair Memorial Gardens in McRae-Helena, Georgia. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable woman who touched many lives with her kindness and grace.

Because of the circumstances that Helene has left our community in, a Celebration of Life will also be held at a date yet to be determined.
