Eula Lee Bowen Wells, 91, of Jacksonville, died Friday, January 8. Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Monday, January 11, at Blockhouse Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, 7:00-9:00P.M., at Vaughn Funeral Home.
A native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Mrs. Wells was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Katie Kinnett Bowen, and was the wife of the late Reno Jackson Wells. She was a former seamstress at Roydon Wear and an active member of Blockhouse Baptist Church where she was instrumental in overseeing the cemetery. Mrs. Wells also enjoyed being a former Pink Lady with Telfair County Hospital and volunteering at McRae Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include her children, Cora (Odia) Stanley, Milan, Royce (Sue) Wells, Gainesville, FL, Gerald (Martha) Wells, McRae and Jimmy Wells, Alamo; sisters, Inez Holland, Lumber City, Mildred Patterson, Suffolk, VA and Linda Yawn, Jacksonville; grandchildren, Steve (Janet) Wells, Reno, NV, Helen (Tony) Gilliard, Nicholls, Missy (Todd) Baker, Alachua, FL, Melinda (Charles) Melvin, Dudley, Andy (Natalie) Wells, Pelham, Julie (Chris) Miller, Watkinsville, Edward (Angie) Stanley, Milan, Jody (Emily) Wells, Alamo, Marsha (Joey) Veal, Chauncey, Jeremy (Marcey) Wells, Martinez and Amy (Jody) Walker, Rhine; 25 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
