Ernest Dykes, Sr., 84, of McRae, died Friday, March 2 Funeral services will be at 2:00P.M., Monday, March 5, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in the Telfair Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Dykes was the son of the late Daniel and Nellie Sheffield Dykes and married to the late LaRue Dykes. He was the owner/operator of Video City.
Survivors include his sons, Ernest Dykes, Jr. (Debbie), Vidalia and Tim Dykes, McRae; sister, Gladys Crumpler, McRae; grandchildren, Katie Alexander and Stephanie Dykes, Atlanta, Josh Dykes, Augusta, Amber Dykes and MaHalie Dykes, McRae; great-grandchildren, Abby Dykes, Lance Connell and Pippa Connell; sisters-in-law, Janet (Emory) Rogers, McRae and Shirley Nelson, Albuquerque, NM; and several nieces and nephews.
