Dorcas Sightler Fussell, 96, of McRae, died Sunday, November 21, 2010. Funeral services will be at 11:00A.M., Tuesday, November 23, at the McRae First Baptist Church with burial in the Stuckey Cemetery, Alamo. Visitation is Monday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native of Wheeler County, Mrs. Fussell was the daughter of the late William H. and Ida Joiner Sightler and the wife of the late Rev. Homer Fussell. A retired school teacher and a member of the Telfair/Wheeler Retired Educators Association, she was a Trustee at Brewton-Parker College and served on the Mercer University Counsel. Mrs. Fussell was Vice President of the State WMU Association and was a member of McRae First Baptist Church where she was very active, serving as Sunday School Teacher and WMU President.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Dr. William (Saundra) Sightler, McRae; Wilma (Gary) Jenkins, Joan Westbrook and Grace Purser, all of Glenwood, Jeanette (A.F.) Gibbs, Alamo and Kay (L.W.) Clark, Savannah; and several great-nieces and nephews.
