Donna Sheryl (Bass) Grimes

Donna Sheryl Bass Grimes, 69, of McRae, died Tuesday, July 31.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, August 4, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, with burial at Grimes Cemetery, Helena.  Visitation is Friday, 6:00-9:00P.M.

A native of Telfair County where she lived most of her life, Mrs. Grimes was the daughter of Buck Bass and the late Jean Curtis Bass.  A retired bookkeeper for Foster Tractor Company and for Harry Brett, she was a member of Friendship Holiness Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Grimes.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Wendell Grimes of McRae; father, Buck Bass of Carey; children, Glenn (Stacy) Grimes of Brunswick, Scott (Deborah) Grimes of McRae, Donnie (Kirsten) Grimes of Woodstock, Mark (Amy) Grimes of McRae, Sara (Kevin) Brown and Kimberly Sue (Larry) White, both of McRae; daughter-in-law, Charlene Grimes of Acworth; sisters, Barbara Chance and Teresa (Jerry) Anderson both of Cochran, and Diann (Robert) Harrison of Dudley.  Twenty-one grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.
