David Ray Hutchinson

David Ray Hutchinson, 56, of Eastman, died peacefully, Thursday, January 19, following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00P.M., Saturday, January 21, at Community Church of God, with burial at Harrelson Family Cemetery.  Visitation is Friday, 6:00-8:00P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Hutchinson was the son of Phyllis Jane Mooney Hutchinson and the late Ray Lamar Hutchinson, and lived in Pontiac, MI until 1978. He was a 1984 graduate of Dodge County High School and received an associate’s degree from Heart of Georgia Technical College in Machine Technology. Mr. Hutchinson worked with Gilman Paper Company for 18 years prior to working at Summers Nuclear Plants in North Carolina and South Carolina and staying at VC Summers from 2014 until his disability in 2021, due to pancreatic cancer. He, along with his wife, Priscilla, also owned and operated Priscilla’s Country Restaurant from 1999 to 2014. Mr. Hutchinson was a dedicated employee who never missed a day of work. He was a member of Community Church of God and was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Dwayne “Buddy” NeSmith, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Dennis Hutchinson of Eastman; mother, Phyllis Mooney Hutchinson of Cochran; daughter, Krystal Nicole (Matt) Betlach of Cotton, Minnesota; bonus children, Jason Wayne Dennis of Eastman and Kristy Marie (Greg) Rowell of Perry; brothers and sisters, Donna NeSmith of Eastman, Lisa (Charlie) Orange of Dublin, Carol (Charlie) Rozar of Gresston, Brian (Lisa) Hutchinson of Macon and James (Gwendolyn) Hutchinson of Macon; and grandchildren, Christopher Wiggins (Logan Smith), Wesley Rowell, Kristyn McGlamry, Mason Dennis, Brockston Betlach and Brayden Betlach.
