Christopher Tyler Steverson, 21, of McRae, died Tuesday, January 10. Funeral services will be held at 2:00P.M., Sunday, January 15, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial in the Blockhouse Cemetery, Jacksonville. Visitation is 6:00 - 9:00P.M., Saturday.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Steverson was the son of Chris W. Steverson and Shalon Smith. He attended Telfair County Schools and graduated from E. John’s Military School, Ft. Stewart. Mr. Steverson was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Army and to have toured in Iraq.
Survivors include his wife, Kayla Steverson and son, Christopher Tyler Steverson, Jr., Jacksonville; mother, Shalon Smith, Helena; father, Chris Steverson, McRae; grandmothers, Patsy Vaughn, McRae and Patsy Smith, Helena; great-grandfather, William Steverson, McRae; brothers and sister, Andrew Steverson and Jenna Smith, McRae and Rhyan McDonald, Scotland. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
