Chester L. Swain, Jr., 85, of McRae, died Wednesday, September 23. Funeral services will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, September 26, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in the Bethlehem (Sandhill) Church Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Swain was the son of the late Chester L. Swain, Sr. and Alice McDuffie Swain. A timber cruiser/appraiser with Union Camp until his retirement, he was a Mason and Shriner with Al Sihah Temple, Macon, for more than fifty years. Mr. Swain was preceded in death by his wife of more than fifty years, Helen McVey Swain, and a grandson, Larry Lewis Swain, Jr.
Survivors include his children, Larry (Annette) Swain, Dublin, Linda S. Forrest, Alamo, Ricky (Karen) Swain, McRae and Chester (Dennia) Swain, McRae; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and a multitude of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
