Catharine Harbin Batchelor, 93, formerly of McRae, died Monday, March 31. Funeral services will be at 11:00A.M., Friday, April 4, at McRae First Baptist Church with burial in the Telfair Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Thursday, 6:00-8:00P.M.
A native of Telfair County, where she lived most of her life, Ms. Batchelor was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Fannie Bell Poole Harbin She was the wife of the late Thomas Jay Batchelor and was a member of McRae First Baptist Church. Ms. Batchelor was a former school teacher and former case worker with the Department of Family and Children's Services.
Survivors include her children, Cathy (Fred) Hawkins, Marietta, Tommy Batchelor, Odenton, MD, Susy (Charles) Towner, Augusta, and Tracy (Clark) Adams, Flowery Branch; brother-in-law, Charles Colter; sister-in-law, Myrtle Harbin; and grandchildren, Fred T. Hawkins, Chrissy (Todd) Cosper, Brian Batchelor, Daniel Towner, Ben (Katie) Adams and Brandon Adams; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the McRae First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 484, McRae, GA 31055.
