Larry Robert “Bob” Walker, 67, of McRae, died Sunday, March 27. Graveside funeral service will be held at 5:00P.M., Wednesday, March 30, in the Blockhouse Cemetery, Jacksonville. Visitation will be in the church social hall one hour prior to the service.
A native and lifelong resident of Telfair County, Mr. Walker was the son of the late Willie and Minnie Kirkley Walker and was married to the late Lynda Jones Walker. A retired Airborne Ranger and Captain with the U.S. Army, and the owner/operator of Walker Heating and Air for many years, he was an avid outdoorsman who was involved with the Boy Scouts and Riverkeeper and had hiked a large portion of the Appalachian Trail.
Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Walker, Valdosta; son, Jonathon Walker, McRae; brothers and sisters, Ray (Betty) Walker, Jacksboro, TN, Sue (Ken) Bass, Baxley, Joy (Thomas) Rogers, Eastman, and Lyn (Judy) Walker, McRae; and grandchildren, Emily Hannah Walker and Sarah Madeline Walker.
