Bessie Wynell (Claxton) Garrison
Bessie Wynell Garrison, loving wife, mother and grandmother, age 94, of Milan, passed away Thursday, May 8th following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home in McRae with interment at Milan Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday, May 10th from 7 until 9 p.m.
Mrs. Garrison was born on May 24th, 1919 in Wrightsville, GA to the late Carl and Marie Harrison Claxton and was a graduate of Johnson County High School. A Telfair county resident for the past 68 years, she was the wife of the late Broadus James Garrison of Milan. Formerly employed with the Telfair Neighborhood Service center, Mrs. Garrison was also a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Garrison was preceded in death by her husband, son, John Mark Garrison, daughter, Barbara Marie Garrison Meadows, and granddaughter, Natalie Meadows. Survivors include her daughter, Marjorie Louise Garrison, and grandson, Sean Joseph Davoudi, both of Milan, and several nieces and nephews.
