Barbara Parlor McLaughlin, 62, of Helena, died Wednesday, June 26, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 11:00A.M., Friday, June 28, at Helena Baptist Church with burial in the Oakland (Helena) Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, 6:00 – 9:00P.M.
A native of Hazlehurst, Barbara was the daughter of Millie Crawford Parlor and the late Talmadge Parlor. A retired postmaster, she was a member of the National League of Postmasters. Barbara was a member of Helena Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and attending Sunday School class. Barbara was a true warrior for Christ, witnessing everywhere she went.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy B. McLaughlin, Helena; mother, Millie Claire Parlor, Hazlehurst; children, Regina Kirkland (Michael) Veal, Ambrose, Blake A. (Jennifer N.) Kirkland, West Point, James B. McLaughlin, McRae and Christy (Marty) Kinnett, McRae; brother and sister, Anthony (Lataine) Parlor, Baxley and Danice (Ashley) Smiley, Hazlehurst; and grandchildren, Dake Veal, Dalton Veal, Kaydee Veal, Trey Kirkland, Nicholas Kirkland, Elise Kirkland and Laci Kinnett.
